Well, finally got up off my dead arse yesterday, went outside and shot a few pics commemorating the 70th anniversary of the start of the Spanish Civil War.
These aren't the greatest pics I've ever done, but, they won't be the only ones I ever do on this subject, so stay tuned, Kiddies.
The quartet of pics below depict an armed citizen of Barcelona engaged in street fighting with rebel Spanish soldiers during the street fighting there on 19th-20th July, 1936(first pic), a member of the Thaelmann Battalion, an International Brigades' battalion composed of German Communist and Socialist volunteers, during the battle for Madrid's University City complex, which was part of the larger Siege of Madrid by Nationalist forces, in November, 1936(second pic), a slain Abraham Lincoln Battalion(American International Brigades' battalion) volunteer at the Battle of Jarama(where the Lincolns got their first taste of battle)in February, 1937(third pic), and a Spanish Republican soldier listening for approaching Nationalist bombers in Madrid, circa December, 1936(fourth pic).
Those are it for this batch, Kids. But, as I said earlier, there'll be more to come, right soon.
Stay tuned, Bat-Fans!!!!
