Went to the Food Not Bombs demo at Las Vegas City Hall on Thursday last, and it was fairly well attended, about several dozen people or so, which is generally about as large as most Vegas protests get, as well as represenatives of a number of local media outlets of various sorts.
There were a number of speeches made there, including one by Yours Truly(it was an open-mic forum), and I even took a number of pics there, and at the two other FNB demos at a park just across the street from the City Hall.
There was one last one at Circle Park, which is a Vegas city park not more than about half a mile south-east of the City Hall, and an attempted feeding of homeless people there, which was interrupted by the Las Vegas City Marshals(the local police force in charge of City of Las Vegas parks and other properties), who confiscated the food, and cited five people(two locals and three FNB activists from Santa Rosa, California)for violating the City of Las Vegas ordinance outlawing "mobile soup kitchens" and the feeding of the homeless in City of Las Vegas parks, which is what sparked the protests.
Anyway, if you want to see the pictures I took on 10th August, just copy and paste the following link, http://lasvegas.staughton.indypgh.org/news/2006/08/5445.php, into your web browser window, and have a look for yourselves.
