A very stylised depiction of a soldier in the service of one of the Liberian factions participant in the Liberian Civil War of 1989-1997. You may be wondering why the soldier's wearing a feather boa. Well, from what little I've read about that conflict, many soldiers on the various sides, early on in the war, wore items of female clothing due to Liberian religious beliefs about the donning of female attire by warriors having something to do with some sort of spiritual possession, or something like that, to be used by the warriors when confronting their opponents in battle. Sorry can't be clearer or more knowledgeable about that particular subject. Any of you out there viewing this who is, is always more than welcome to post a reply to this pic, explaining why and how this works. Would love to know more.
